Vyapam (terminal case): five convicted for 2013 constable test impersonation
Confidence A — core facts anchored to primary documents (court records / official notices) cited below.
In one of the few exam-fraud cases in this register to reach judgment, a special CBI court in Bhopal on 29 September 2022 sentenced five men to seven years' rigorous imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fines each for rigging the 2013 MP police constable recruitment test: four had hired impersonators to write the exam, and one wrote it for another. 32 witnesses and 220 documents were examined. The case is part of the wider Vyapam scandal, exposed in July 2013, in which over 2,000 people had been arrested by mid-2015 and the Supreme Court moved all cases to the CBI in July 2015.
